RENÉ HERBST chair

The RENÉ HERBST chair by DAMMI DESIGN is a design complement in Bauhaus style, it is inspired by the original design of the chair presented by René Herbst at the Salon d'Automne in 1929, the French designer was one of the first to adapt simple industrial materials to furnishing complements 'furniture. Since 1919 Herbst has interpreted the path of modern design, dealing with metal furniture, window dressing and interior lighting. As regards the design of metal furniture, its full maturity can be recognized around 1920 with models in nickel-plated metal tube with a rigorous and functional design. The structure consists of a mirror-chromed and polished steel tube and the seat and backrest are made of elastic bands covered in cotton, similar to those used to hold spikes on bicycles. The elastic bands are available in black, red and blue.
